NATPE Confirms 50 Exhibitors for Miami Marketplace

January 2011 conference theme is "Content First"

NATPE announced Monday it has commitments from more than 50 exhibitors for its "Content First" marketplace, to be held at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach, Fla., Jan. 24-26, 2011.

BBC, Twentieth TV, NBC Universal, Disney, CBS TV Distribution, Lionsgate, HBO and Debmar-Mercury are among the companies confirmed.

"The move to Miami in 2011 has been incredibly well-received, resulting in quicker sales than ever before," said NATPE President and CEO Rick Feldman in a statement. "The fact that all buyers and sellers will be in the same location and easily accessible has garnered great enthusiasm for the market. And, for the European and Latin companies, Miami is certainly appreciated."

NEWS BRIEF: Natpe's move to Miami seems to be going down well with distributors; organisers of the US programme market have signed up 50 exhibitors, including Twentieth TV, NBC Universal, Disney and CBS TV Distribution.

Others include BBC Worldwide, Televisa, Venevision, Lionsgate Entertainment, HBO, Debmar-Mercury and Globo TV. "The move to Miami in 2011 has been incredibly well-received," said Natpe president and CEO Rick Feldman. The event takes place from January 24 to 26.

En los últimos años se rumoreaba que NATPE iba a dejar de celebrarse. La crisis económica y el elevado número de citas al año estaban afectando a este mercado que supone la primera toma de contacto con las novedades televisivas del año. Rick Feldman, CEO de la organización indicó: La estrategia de mudar el evento a Miami para 2011 ha sido muy bien recibida, resultando en ventas más rápidas que en ocasiones anteriores. El hecho de que todos los compradores y vendedores estarán en el mismo sitio y fácilmente accesibles ha generado gran entusiasmo en el mercado. Para las compañías europeas y latinoamericanas, Miami es muy apreciado.

NATPE announced today that it has commitments from more than 50 exhibitors in less than one month. The market — under the conference theme “Content First” — will be held at the Fontainebleau Resort on Miami Beach, Jan. 24-26, 2011.

“The move to Miami in 2011 has been incredibly well-received, resulting in quicker sales than ever before," said NATPE President-CEO Rick Feldman. "The fact that all buyers and sellers will be in the same location and easily accessible has garnered great enthusiasm for the market. And, for the European and Latin companies, Miami is certainly appreciated,” Feldman noted.

Among the companies confirming early are BBC, Televisa, Venevision, Twentieth TV, NBC Universal, Disney, CBS TV Distribution, Lionsgate, HBO, Debmar-Mercury and Globo TV. Exhibit space will be available on the NATPE floor and in suites, all under one roof within the Fontainebleau complex. NATPE will take over the entire hotel footprint.
